VIRUS SHOWS NO SIGNS OF SLOWING – U.S. NEARS SINGLE DAY RECORD

Let’s just say my next door neighbor has Covid.  He spiked a fever and couldn’t sleep.  It came with nausea, headache, and body aches.  Sense of smell and taste seemed fine, but fatigue added to the everywhere body aches.   Next day he goes for testing.   It is now 6 days later and no results yet. 

What about those people in his circle who were supposed to be “contact traced?”  Possibly infected, they have continued their lives exposing family, friends, perhaps coworkers, people in the supermarket, drug store, maybe even those in the eye doctor’s office or dentist’s, dental hygienists being one of the most risky professions for COVID-19 transmission. Imagine how many people could be infected FROM those who came in contact with my neighbor before or in the early stage of his symptoms.  And how many did they subsequently infect?

There is no way testing is doing anything for us if the test results are not prompt.  In fact, slow test results generate only one outcome.  This can only spread the Covid exponentially. 

It is being said that we have more people testing positive because more tests are being conducted.  That is logical.  It is also logical that we need more testing because the time lag in test results generates a much higher degree of spread.   

Why get tested at all, unless you are high risk, if it doesn’t stop the spread?

(As a side note, with the existing situation there will be an ever increasing need for more contact tracers which will help the unemployment numbers.   Some, no doubt, will be spreaders themselves.)

And by the way, don’t feel better because the man standing next to you in Walgreens is wearing a mask.  He could have purchased a packet from BJs that clearly says these masks protect no one from anything.  BUT it keeps the politicians and the Karens happy and the business owners, too, who might be shut down if you insist on entering with no face covering.   Or what about the box of disposal masks I am reading right now.  They are finally back in supply and appear to be the mask many people are wearing.

But on the other side it says:  Usage:  protects from airborne particles including droplets, pollen, dust, smoke and other substances.  

It doesn’t matter that this might confuse some.  People are wearing them regardless.  After all it makes others feel better and prevents they themselves from being pepper sprayed as happened over the weekend to a young man sitting eating in a park with his wife, both minding their own business.

And let’s not forget the testing errors – false positives and false negatives.  Even a pawpaw fruit tested positive for Covid, but don’t tell the Karens or they will start yelling BAN THE FRUIT!

So folks, it isn’t about science.  It is about something else.  Clearly, it is about the election.  I also postulate that when the schools didn’t teach discipline or work ethic, as is so clearly illustrated in many young adults today, they enhanced the country’s level of incompetence, laziness, and lost lives.  Hence, who cares if the masks aren’t designed to work?

Any way you want to slice it, it doesn’t take a scientist to know that it isn’t about the science.
