On Liberal Neighbors – Words of Easy Wisdom from Notaloon in the Loon-Hood

This is my life.

It might not be a good idea to have a conversation with your dog- walking neighbor if she initiates the evening’s conversation with “I am sorry.  I am a liberal.  But….”

It might not be a good idea to have a conversation with your neighbor if she says that Trump just expelled all sweet dreamers from the country.

It might not be a good idea to have a conversation with your neighbor if she believes not enough free housing is given FREE to ‘poor’ people.

It might not be a good idea to have a conversation with your neighbor if she believes all poor people are proud of their free housing and keep it in perfect condition with candles for their kids on the kitchen table and all that.

It might not be a good idea to have a conversation with your neighbor if she says more FREE housing will cut down on the need for police and the big New York law firm her non-profit just hired will prove it.

It might not be a good idea to have a conversation with your neighbor if she says “I hate to tell you this but Trump isn’t going to give you lower taxes.  He just isn’t.”

It might not be a good idea to have a conversation with your neighbor if she says billionaires need to pay up because they don’t give enough.

It might not be a good idea to have a conversation with your neighbor if she believes charitable giving will never be sufficient to support all the people who should be supported.  More must be taken from taxpayers.

It might not be a good idea to have a conversation with your neighbor if she believes Obama had to sign un-Constitutional executive orders because Congress wasn’t doing it.

It might not be a good idea to have a conversation with your neighbor whose “heart is hurting” over all the evil Americans are perpetrating on the poor and on the immigrants.

It might not be a good idea to have a conversation with your neighbor if she can’t focus on one issue but rather hops from one virtuous thought to another.

It might not be a good idea to have a conversation with your neighbor if she feels she must end the evening’s conversation with “I am sorry.  I am a liberal.  I had no idea you weren’t.  I should have been forewarned.  My husband should have told me.”

GOOD NIGHT.
